ALBERT WOTTON

1936 - 2005

Albert Edward Wotton, beloved husband of Shirley Wotton of Taber, passed away at the Taber Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the age of 68 years.
Besides his loving wife Shirley, Albert is survived by his two daughters Linda (Brent) Innis of Drayton Valley, AB and Doreen (Dale) Pridmore of Consul, SK; three grandchildren Sara, Michael and Tanner; his brother John (Anne) Wotton of Perth, ON; two brothers-in-law Bill Robinson of Winnipeg, MB and David Wilson of Duncan, BC as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brothers & sisters-in-law and many close friends.
He was predeceased by his father John, his mother Mary and by his sisters Annie, Isabelle, Ruth and Betty.
Albert was born on July 4, 1936 in Wapella, Saskatchewan where he attended grade school and later received his teaching degree in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He married Shirley Knuttila on May 4, 1957. His career took him from teaching to trucking, then town administration, finally ending up in the oilfield until he retired. He and his family moved throughout southern Saskatchewan and finally to Alberta. He spent his free time playing ball, fishing, hunting, and curling. He gave his volunteer time to the Masonic Lodge and to various church boards. He enjoyed gardening and working with his fruit trees, building puzzles and playing cards. He was always grateful for time spent with his grandchildren and took great pleasure in watching them grow up. Albert was a wonderful, caring husband and father who sacrificed a great deal for his family, always putting them first. He will be sadly missed, for he was taken to soon from those who loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 4619 - 56 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Carl Bogda officiating. Interment will take place later in the day at the Maple Creek Cemetery, Maple Creek, SK at 4:30 P.M. central time.
