RUDY DEBONA

1943 - 2002

While surrounded by his family, Rudy DeBona, beloved husband of Cheryl DeBona, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2002 at the age of 58 years following a courageous battle with cancer.
Rudy was born in Lethbridge on June 21, 1943. Being raised in Taber, he also began his career in farming in the area. Farming became his passion in life. He particularly enjoyed raising cattle. Rudy was appreciated by all of his friends and family for his willingness to lend a helping hand, his uplifting sprit and his sense of humor. His quick wit made for interesting conversation and kept those around him on their toes. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
Besides his wife Cheryl, Rudy leaves his children to cherish his memory, a son Todd (Kathy) DeBona and children Jesse, Tiffanni and Darian; a daughter Carlie Easthope and her children Josh, Tara and Brett; a son Reg (Susan) DeBona and their children Stephanie and Samantha; a daughter Richelle (Rick) Gross and their daughter Emma; a son Billy DeBona and their special cat Alf. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary (Bill) Rachwalski and Katie (Ken) Christensen; two brothers, Ralph (Marlene) DeBona and twin brother John R. (Margaret) DeBona; his mother-in-law Anne Mikla as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Rudy was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Emma DeBona and his father-in-law Joe Mikla.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Relatives and friends were invited for Prayers at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at 7:30 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Howard Keon and Reverend Jim de los Angeles Con-celebrants. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
