1922 - 2002

William “Bill” Joseph Wright, beloved husband of Truus Wright of Taber, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at the age of 79 years.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Truus, his three children and eight grandchildren Glynn (Lis) Wright of Lethbridge and their children Shannon (Barry), Karla (Rick), Travis and Curtis (Shelley); Darryl (Lucy) Wright of Osoyoos, British Columbia and their son Jeff (Sherry); and Sharna (Joe) Redinger of St. John’s, Newfoundland and their children Beverley, Kim (Drew) and Kevin; a step-daughter Annie Lieverse of Taber and twelve great grandchildren.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Florence, brother Harry and sisters Catherine Firth and Jenny Woods.
Bill was born at Taber on December 23, 1922 where he received his schooling. He moved to British Columbia where he worked in the Christian Valley. During WWII he was stationed in eastern Canada. Bill attended Police College in Calgary and worked as a Police Officer in Milk River. He was a long time member of the Taber Police Force and served as Police Chief from 1975 until his retirement in 1984.
He was predeceased by his first wife Florence on June 8, 1974. Bill married Truus Lieverse and they have resided in Taber until his passing.
Relatives and friends were invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Jim de los Angeles officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
