VIOLET MCNEELY

1908 - 1999

Violet Mary McNeely of Warner, beloved wife of the late Orlo McNeely, passed away peacefully at Milk River on Thursday, September 23, 1999 at the age of 90 years.
Violet was born on November 22, 1908 in Lethbridge. She received her schooling in Lethbridge and Turin and was raised on the family ranch at Turin. In 1935 she moved to Warner where she later married Orlo on March 25, 1939. Violet loved to collect salt & pepper shakers and was excellent with a sewing machine. She also gathered old bottles and enjoyed antiques. Violet enjoyed to listen to her friends and children play music and never missed christmas concerts or school plays and functions. Her greatest treasure was her family. She was a fulltime wife, mother, and homemaker and her pride and joy were her granddaughters. Violet will be lovingly remembered by her family as a happy mother who was always there for her family, friends and others she associated with.
She will be sadly missed by her family and Violet’s memory will be carried on by her children, a son Vernon (Yvonne) McNeely of Warner and their daughters Charlene (Darren) Moch of Thompkins, Saskatchewan and Cindy McNeely of Lethbridge; a daughter Geraldine (Lorne) Jensen of Taber; her twin sister Lilly Mellow of Turin and a sister Freda Oswald of Kelowna, British Columbia; brother-in-law Lowell (Trelma) McNeely of Calgary and sister-in-law Arlin Clarke of Lacombe as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Orlo, Violet was predeceased by a sister Frances Arrowsmith, twin brothers George and Art Arrowsmith and brothers Charlie and Albert Arrowsmith.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Evangelical Missionary Church, 301 - 5 Avenue, Warner on Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Brian Magee officiating. Interment followed at the Warner Memorial Cemetery.
