ELSIE BRYANT

1929 - 2000

Elsie Bryant, beloved wife of Allan Bryant, passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Monday, July 10, 2000 at the age of 70 years.
Elsie was born in Enchant on November 5, 1929 the daughter of Clarence and Edith Wiest. On December 6, 1947 she married Allan Bryant and settled in the Retlaw/Enchant area. In 1951 they moved to the Vauxhall area and later moved to Hays in 1954. In 1973, Elsie and Allan made Lethbridge their home and have resided there since that time. Those who knew Elsie will remember her for her enthusiasm and vibrant outlook on life. She enjoyed socializing and spending quality time with her family. She had a real passion for dancing which was evident as she was the first one on the dance floor and danced until the last song was finished playing. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Besides her husband Allan, she leaves her five children to cherish her memory, a son Ray (Jeanelle) Bryant of Taber and their children Chad (Nicole) and Carrie and her daughter Kiara; a daughter Sheryl Dyson of Calgary and her children Dee and Jenny; a son Gary Bryant of Calgary and his children Aaryn and Justin; a daughter Darlene (Mike) Perkins of Calgary and their children Mark and Roddy; a daughter Karen Gillis of Lethbridge and her children Tara and Devin. Elsie is also survived by her brothers Roy (Maisie) Wiest of Lethbridge; Cecil (Olivia) Wiest of Enchant; Phil (Caroline) Wiest of Lethbridge; Reg (Martha) Wiest of Enchant and Dick (Karen) Wiest of Enchant; her sisters-in-law Verna, Dorothy and Vera as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Edith Wiest; her brothers and sisters: twins Charles & Helen in infancy, John, Willie, George, David, Mike, Phyllis and Lola; a son-in-law Mel Dyson; a sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, July 12, 2000 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Enchant Community Hall (Main Street), Enchant on Thursday, July 13, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. with Mr. Ray Speaker officiating. Burial followed at the Enchant Cemetery.
