Tony Dunphy

1959 - 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Anthony Kirk Dunphy, beloved husband of Mindy Dunphy, announce his passing in Taber on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the age of 60 years.

The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Community Hall, 417 - 4 Street North, Vauxhall on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. A private burial service will be held at the Vauxhall Cemetery at a later date.

Tony is survived by his loving wife Melinda “Mindy” Dunphy (nee Rombough), his children Jessica McNiven of Lethbridge, Stephanie McNiven (Jason Racine) of Lethbridge and grandson Griffin Anthony Mack. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Tim Dunphy, Robert (Michelle) Dunphy, Deborah (Alfie) Doucet and Lisa (Blair) Cockburn; his sister-in-law Patricia Dunphy; Mindy’s parents Dale and Dorothy Rombough; Mindy’s brothers Randy Rombough and Ricky Rombough and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Marvin and Bernice Dunphy, brother David Dunphy, brother-in-law Ken Phillips and sisters-in-law Dalene Phillips and Betty Dunphy.

Tony was born on January 15, 1959 in Stanley, New Brunswick to parents Marvin and Bernice Dunphy. Tony will be surely remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour, he always had the ability to make those around him feel special. He would drop all that he was doing in a moment to rush to the aid of anyone who needed him. He loved his career as a Powerline Technician and cherished the relationships he made during that time. Tony was a wonderful father to his girls and the proudest ‘papa’ to Griffin. He was our rock and he will be deeply missed.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Tony’s name may be made directly to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation, Renal Unit, 960 - 19 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 1W5.

Tony’s family wish to express a heartfelt thank you to his team of nurses Donna, Sharla and Sarah.
