The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Vauxhall Cemetery.

Hugh is survived by his sons Patrick Bell of Medicine Hat and Craig (Roberta) Bell of Edmonton and their mother Georgia Stauth; two grandchildren Wylie and Weston Bell; his brother Kenneth (Carol) Bell, sister Colleen (Wilf) Tolsma, sister-in-law Barb Bell, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Hugh was born in Taber on January 22, 1946. He grew up on the family farm near Vauxhall and after graduating, spent some time working in the oil patch and then began farming full time. Farming suited him well and he continued on that path for many years.

Hugh loved hunting, fishing and golfing. He was an excellent trapshooter and was one of the founders of the Vauxhall Trap Club. From marksman to machinist, Hugh wore many hats. He was keen to learn new skills and was determined and resourceful enough to tackle most challenges on his own.

Hugh enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was always ready to put on a pot of coffee when neighbours would drop in for a visit. Hugh had a good sense of humour, was humble and respectful of others.
