1942 - 2021

 Estella Dora Wikkerink (nee Tomson), beloved wife of John Wikkerink, passed away peacefully in Bow Island on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the age of 78 years.

  As a result of the restrictions regarding COVID-19 and the government recommendations, a private funeral service was held at the Evangelical Free Church, 214 - 4 Avenue West, Bow Island on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Bow Island Cemetery. 

 Besides her loving husband John, she is survived by their four children Ron (Judi) Wikkerink of Bow Island and their family Kim (Luke) Booker (Jonah, Eve and Sierra), Tony (Kayla) Wikkerink, Jill (Kendell) Wiens (Emmy); David (Lorraine) Wikkerink of Bow Island and their family Nicole (Steven) Warren (Else and Aubrey), Timothy (Bethany) Wikkerink, Vivian Wikkerink; Steve (Sonja) Wikkerink of Bow Island and their family Jamie (Cameron) Pahl (Connor, Jayden and Mason), Ashton (Bryce) Wikkerink (Brynnley and Brooklynn), Tressa (Jason) Wiens, Carlyle Wikkerink; Janet (Art) Van Gaalen of Lethbridge and their family Payden Van Gaalen, Dylan (Jen) Van Gaalen. She is also survived by her brother Harry Tomson and sister Reta (Ron) Earl; brother-in-law Ron Sebastien, sisters-in-law Nicki Tomson, Virgie Tomson and by numerous nieces and nephews.

 She was predeceased by her parents Melvin and Lucola Tomson; brothers Jack Tomson and Jim Tomson; sisters Mary Zarback and Ruth Sebastien; brother-in-law Gary Zarback; sister-in-law Kathy Tomson.

 Growing up, Stella lived in Idaho and Washington. She met John Wikkerink while working in Canada in 1960. They were married in Taber on June 24, 1961. They raised their three sons and their daughter on the farm north of Bow Island. Stella loved reading, sewing, baking, music and especially her flower gardens. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Bow Island, using her talents in several different ministries. John and Stella moved to Pleasant View Lodge in October 2020.
