Dave Garner

1941 - 2021

 David Walter Garner, beloved husband of Cheryl Garner, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the age of 79 years.

 A private service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden. 

 Dave will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 58 years, Cheryl; his children Del (Venisa) Garner of Taber, Wayne (Christy) Garner of Taber and Cara (Trevor) Gettis of Calgary; grandchildren Kelsey and Shea Garner; Brady, Colby and Addison Garner; Tanner, Desiree and Aleesha Gettis. He is also survived by his sisters Joyce Karl and Jackie Sanderson.

 He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Beth Garner; brother Bill Garner; brothers-in-law Ernie Karl and Ed Sanderson.

 Dave was born in Lethbridge on June 14, 1941, and raised in the Foremost area. Dave married Cheryl Ell on July 5, 1962. Together they lived in Foremost where they had their three children Del, Wayne and Cara. Life took the family to Brooks where Dave worked in the oilfield for Nowsco Well Service. From Brooks, the Garner family moved to Lloydminster. Years later, Dave and Cheryl returned to southern Alberta to live in Taber. They welcomed a son-in-law and daughters-in-law as well as eight beautiful grandchildren. Dave could often be found at the arena or ball diamond cheering on his grandson’s teams or watching softball, rugby and competitive cheer with his granddaughters.
