VIDEO TRIBUTE

Derrik French

1966 - 2021

Derrik Douglas French passed away in Lethbridge, with his family by his side following a long and hard, but courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the age of 55 years.

Derrik will be dearly missed by his fiancé Rhonda DeBona, the love of his life of 35 years, his mother Sylvia French his father-in-law John DeBona and his Aunt Terry Millwater. He will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Derrik was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, camp and hunt. He loved to build things with his hands and was a truck driver for many years. One of his favourite places to spend time, was at St. Mary’s Lake, British Columbia where he was building his very own cabin. Derrik was very fortunate to have spent a lot of time working in Norman Wells, North West Territories, where over the years he made many friendships that became a part of his extended family.

Derrik was quiet (for the most part), caring and a loving person to the people that were important to him. He was well known for dropping by ‘unannounced’ to check in on friends and family, usually toting a treasure he had found along the way.

Derrik was a smart, successful business owner. He and Rhonda founded Go-Getter Enterprises in 2012. He was hard working, ambitious, determined and was a forward thinker.

A private visitation was held at Southland Funeral Chapel. A celebration of Derrik’s life is being planned for a later date.

Derrik had a love for dogs and cats, so if friends so desire, memorial tributes in his name may be made directly to the Taber Lost Paws Society, 5710 - 66 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1B8 www.taberlostpawssociety.com.
