Barbara Babranyi

1932 - 2021

 Barbara Babranyi, beloved wife of the late Frank Babranyi, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the age of 89 years.

 Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 between 1:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M.

The burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden, 7600 - 50 Street, Taber on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 2:30 P.M. 

 Barbara is survived by her son Frank (Linda) Babranyi of Taber and their children Lee (Pam) Babranyi (their family Chase and Callie) and Tracy (Jackson) Woodruff (their family Kade, Reyna, Keaton and Amalia). She is also survived by extended family in Hungary.

 Barbara was born June 14, 1932 in Lajoskomarom, Hungary. She married Frank Babranyi in 1953 and together they emigrated from Hungary during the revolution. They settled in Taber where they found work at various jobs including the cannery, Rogers Sugar and Diamond S Produce.

 In 1965, Frank passed away, the result of a work related accident and Barbara continued to support her family, raising their son Frank.

 In her later years, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her close friends and helping others. Her commitment to giving of herself was recognized when she was honoured as Taber’s ‘Senior Citizen of the Year’. She loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
