1954 - 2022

James Roy Lamond, beloved husband of Gail Lamond (née Kimber), passed away peacefully in Vauxhall, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the age of 68 years.

The Funeral Service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. A private burial service followed at the Vauxhall Cemetery.

Jim was a caring husband, father, grandfather and brother. Besides his loving wife Gail, he is survived by their children Jonathan (Jessie) of Barnwell, Chelsea (Gilles) of St. Claude, Manitoba and by daughter-in-law Meagan of Redcliff; his precious grandchildren Lexus, Teagan, Arianna, Harley, Kendall, Gunner, Wylder, and Jonnie. He is also survived by his brother Jerry (Judy), sons Chris and Scott and their families all of Lethbridge, nephew-in-law Gordon Carey of Swift Current and by his mother-in-law Ida Kimber of Taber.

He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Alta Lamond of Vauxhall; brother Willy Lamond; sister Barbara Norgardt, her husband Les of Lethbridge and their daughter Cheryle Carey of Swift Current; father-in-law Harry Kimber of Vauxhall.

Jim was born in Taber on January 31, 1954 to Constance “Alta” and William ”Bill” Lamond. Jim worked for the Town of Vauxhall and after retiring, he followed his passion in scrap metal recycling. He was known as the recycling hero by Brooks Industrial Metal and by many as Iron Man. His family referred to him as the candy man, because he loved candy and the abundance of treats that were always on hand.
