Lillian spent her lifetime entirely in Hays until retiring to Taber, moving into Signature Pointe in 1999. Mom and dad farmed in Hays for eleven years, before purchasing A&L Hardware. They also owned and operated two to three school buses for the next twenty two years. Mom loved work and being busy, she had very few hobbies that involved sitting. In her early years in Hays she was involved with the civic centre, church and Social Credit party. She enjoyed cooking and baking, yard work, as well as time spent with family and friends visiting, dancing and playing cards. Lillian and Ames enjoyed many trips to the United States to visit relatives of dad’s. They had fond memories of two special trips with Joe and Em Engel to Hawaii and an Alaskan cruise before mom’s health failed. As Mom’s mobility declined due to her MS, she needed more care and required assisted living. This started in 2010, most of her time was in Long Term Care at the Taber Hospital. It is here that mom has received the best of care and has had some very special caregivers.

If friends so desire, the family requests memorial tributes in Lillian’s name be made directly to the Taber and District Health Foundation, 4326 - 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1N9 www.tdhf.ca or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 110 Quarry Park Blvd, Calgary, Alberta T2C 4P5 www.mssociety.ca.

Our deepest gratitude for the staff in long term care. Our mom was truly treated like family, we feel very fortunate for this. Thank you to the physicians over the years from the Taber Medical Clinic. Our Special thanks the CWL ladies for their regular visits to pray with mom.
