BARB COLLETT
1943 - 2007
It is with great sadness that we mourn the sudden passing of Barbara Louise Collett (nee Taylor), beloved wife of Robert Collett of Taber, on Friday, September 7, 2007 at the age of 63 years.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 32 years Robert Collett, her children David Collett (Cindy), Debbie Stolte, Darlene (Randy) Shaw , Marsha Collett and Jason Taylor-Collett; her grandchildren Larissa Collett, Lindzi (Tyler) Megyes, Lesley Collett (Sam), Layne Collett, Trevor (Natalie) Collett, Justin Stolte, Colette (James) Finnigan, Courtney Shaw, Christopher Shaw, Angela Shaw and Brianna Shaw and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Larry (Lynn) Taylor and her nieces and nephews Michelle (Paul) Darby, Jennifer (Rob) Rowland, Sara (Jay) Sheen, Jared (Tanis) Taylor, Brett (Christina) Taylor, their families and numerous members of the Collett family.
She was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Louise Taylor, infant brother Charles Grant Taylor and her parents-in-law Morgan and Phoebe Collett.
Barbara was born in Accrington, Lancashire, England December 2, 1943, immigrated to Rosemary, Alberta in 1947 and then moved to Taber in 1950 where she resided most of her life. Barb graduated from nursing in 1962 and dedicated the rest of her life to caring for others. Most of her career was spent at the Taber Hospital where she was always able to make people laugh. Barb had a great sense of humor, loved to be around people, was caring and thoughtful. She spent many enjoyable hours organizing and researching family history. Barb will be lovingly remembered by all of those that were under her care and by her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, September 10, 2007 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden, one kilometer north of 64 Avenue on 50 Street, Taber on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 1:30 P.M.
In honour of Barb’s wishes to forgo the formalities of a traditional funeral service, relatives and friends are invited to meet the family in the auditorium of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 2:00 P.M.
