BLAINE FETTIG
1981 - 2002
Blaine Robert Fettig, beloved son of Bob and Rene Fettig of Taber, passed away in Calgary on Sunday, December 22, 2002 at the age of 21 years.
Blaine was born in Taber on September 11, 1981, one of three children born to Bob and Rene Fettig. He attended school in Taber and was a graduate of the St. Mary’s High School class of 1999. As a young boy about the age of 12, Blaine began to understand the value of a strong work ethic. With his best friend Wade Miller, he worked at George Miller Excavating where he learned everything from mechanics to farming. With his knowledge of cars expanding, Blaine and Wade found themselves fixing and repairing old cars and trucks and the odd time found that they could also get them stuck! Blaine enjoyed life and the outdoors. He liked to go hunting which also meant he could load up his quad and take some time to go quadding. In the summer months he would spend the time that he could on the lake with his SeaDoo which he recently purchased. Blaine will be dearly missed by his family and all of his friends.
Besides his parents, Bob and Rene Fettig, he will be forever remembered by his sister, Danielle (Devin) Hansen of Taber and his brother Robert Fettig of Taber; his grandparents, Jenny Mazereeuw of Taber, John (Margaret) Fettig of Edmonton and George Frank of Tonasket, Washington and his great-grandmother, Vilda Quaife. Blaine is also survived by his ‘second parents’, Tim and Trudy Miller and their children Jamie (Mark) Calvert and Wade Miller and Blaine’s God-Son Chase Calvert.
Blaine was predeceased by his grandmother Burna Frank and grandfather Peter Mazereeuw.
The Funeral Service was held at the First Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Mike Vandyk and Pastor Jake Korvers officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
