Ruth Jensen

1930 - 2025

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Ruth Marie Jensen, passed away peacefully in Taber on Monday, July 28, 2025 at the age of 95 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 between 10:00 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barnwell Chapel, 14 - 3 Avenue East, Barnwell on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Barnwell Cemetery. 

Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon Jensen and is survived by their children Barb (Allen) Emmett of Stockton, California, Ken (Gay) Jensen of Cardston and Doug (Anita) Jensen of Barnwell. She is survived by eleven grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She will also be lovingly remembered by one sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was born in Taber on March 17, 1930 to Jenny and Henry Jensen. She had four brothers and two sisters, all who predeceased her.

Ruth worked in Taber until 1985, serving Alberta Treasury Branch customers for seventeen years.

Ruth loved to sew and after retiring, she enjoyed genealogy, quilting and crocheting and shared her handiwork with family and friends. Her door was always open and no one ever left her home hungry. She was famous for her fried chicken, pies and desserts.

Ruth was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings during her life. She will be missed greatly by her family and all that knew her.

Ruth’s family would like to thank the staff of Clearview Lodge and Linden View for the care shown to her during the later years of her life and also special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Taber hospital.
