George was honoured to be a volunteer firefighter in Taber for as long as his health allowed, and remained actively involved for twenty five years.
He loved camping, carpentry and painting, and rarely missed an opportunity for a family gathering. George was passionate about teaching, whether in the shop classroom, sharing his love of art, or guiding his grandchildren through a new project. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, photography, and never missed a chance to catch a replay of Corner Gas. Above all, time spent with his family brought him his greatest joy.
