Curtis Vander Gaast
1982 - 2018
Curtis Vander Gaast, beloved husband of Amy (nee McCormick) and daddy to precious daughter Georgia, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the age of 36 years, surrounded by loving family.
Curtis is survived by his parents George and Bev Vander Gaast; sisters Kristi (James) Mitchell and Amanda (Danny) Webster; brother Brian (Denica) Vander Gasst; grandmother Hotty Vander Gaast; parents-in-law Bob (Terry) McCormick and Donna (Glenn) Campbell; sister-in-law Jennifer (Sean) O’Brien; brother-in-law Dale (Susan) McCormick; grandmother-in-law Ferne Lentz; as well as five nephews, five nieces and extended family members.
He was predeceased by his grandmother Tina Bexte; grandfathers Carl Johnson ,Wiebe Vander Gasst and Clem Bexte; cousin Megan Kondor.
Curtis was born on May 2, 1982 in Lethbridge to George and Bev Vander Gaast. He was a loving husband, super-daddy, compassionate son and caring brother. Curtis was a hard worker and a thirteen year volunteer of the Taber Fire Department. He was a passionate Vancouver Canuck fan, avid outdoorsman, sports fanatic and expert gamer. His boisterous laugh and dimpled smile were infectious to all and he was loved for his kind and gentle soul. Even in his death, Curtis is helping others. As an organ donor, he will potentially save the lives of many people. Curtis never wavered from his love of family and God.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Taber Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Friday, August 10, 2018 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Memorial Service was held at Taber Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1:00 P.M.
