Bryan Scott
1947 - 2026
Bryan Scott, beloved husband of the late Crescentia Scott, known by Irene to most, passed away in Taber on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at the age of 79 years.
Bryan is survived by his son Mitchell Scott of Lethbridge, daughter Marlene (Tim) Parish of Louisville, Kentucky; grandsons Nathaniel, Graham (Cara), Elijah (Caroline) and Aidan (Lindsey) as well as seven great grandchildren.
Bryan was born in the village of Harcourt, Ontario but moved with his family at a young age to Montreal, Quebec where he was raised. He always talked about how Montreal food was the best in Canada and talked about its famous corned beef sandwiches all the time. But the west called shortly after high school and he made his way to Vancouver, British Columbia where he met his wife, who made her way to Vancouver from Germany. The two met and their love story began one that lasted well over fifty years. Two were added to the family, a son Mitchell and a daughter Marlene. From Vancouver the Scott family adventure took them to places far and wide from Kitimat, British Columbia to Grimshaw, Alberta to Sarto, Manitoba, eventually returning west to settle in southern Alberta. Bryan was a highly skilled hard working elevator mechanic for most of his work life, but also had forays into building inspection and the corrections field. A servant leader that was constantly lending a helping hand. From drives to doctors appointments, to helping people move, sometimes at great distances, Bryan without hesitation wanted to help people who needed a hand. Bryan was a man of faith and gratitude. He always thanked God for the little things, even if lunch was a boring tuna sandwich he was thankful for it. Like our mom, Bryan’s faith grew and strengthened as challenges faced him. As he aged, he was a man who always saw the big picture and knew ultimately he was a pilgrim, here for a short time, as God has bigger plans for him and all who place their trust in Christ.
