Roy Endo

1944 - 2026

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Roy S. Endo, who left us peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the age of 81 years.

Roy will be lovingly remembered by his brother George Endo of Taber; sisters Amy Powell of Taber and Ruth Endo of Lethbridge; nieces Tammy Endo (Les Harkness) and Norma Powell (Helmut Neuper); nephew Kenneth Endo and his cherished grand nieces Sonya Harkness (Jackson Belanger), Annika Neuper and Zoe Neuper.

He was predeceased by his parents Eiji and Kesami Endo; brothers Jack Endo and Walter Endo; nephew Derek Powell.

Roy was born in Stirling. In 1954, the Endo family moved to Taber, where they first farmed on the Red Trail before purchasing land along Highway 3. Roy attended SAIT to study electronics but chose to return to the family farm, embracing the quiet rhythm of rural life. He worked alongside his family, cared for the land, and built a life grounded in hard work, love and kindness.

A gentle and kindhearted man, Roy was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He had a natural talent for tinkering with machinery and took great satisfaction in keeping things running smoothly. Roy enjoyed hunting and fishing with his longtime friends, Max Goodfellow, Charles Avery and Tom Tsuji. He also found great joy in the simple pleasure of spending time with family and friends at the farmhouse.

Roy lived a humble, hardworking and deeply caring life. He loved his family dearly, and his warmth, generosity and quiet strength will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, August 7, 2026 between 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. A private burial service will be held at Taber Memorial Garden. 

No Koden by request. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to remember Roy honour his memory by extending a kindness to someone in need, as he so often did.
