Carolee Emily Haynes, beloved wife of the late Roy Haynes, passed away in Taber on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the age of 88 years.

Carolee is survived by her children Brenda Mickelberry of Coaldale and son Cameron; Sheldon (Tracie) Haynes of Taber and children Chantelle Peters (Kaydence and Blake-Lee), Brittney (Colton Born) Peters (Payton) and Alisha (Cole Ruston) Peters (Jax, Dexter); Denise (Rod) Yokoyama of Taber and children Stephen (Jenn) Yokoyama, Aniko (Preston) Jensen (Harrison, Brady and Halle) and Derrick Yokoyama; Arlene (John) Geeraert of Taber and children Ryan Geeraert (Colton and Maggie), Kristina Geeraert, Mitchell Geeraert, Carter (Suzie) Geeraert (Jack and Kinsley); Leonard (Kelly) Haynes of Taber and children Nathan (Ariana) Hart (Nash), Justine (Kyle) Bice (Bowen and Wesley), Josh (Nikki) Haynes (Amelia), Jarred (Lluvia) Haynes (Hibram, Eliam, Julian and Andrew); Monica (Jeremy Parks) Haynes of Taber and children Trinity Kopp and Gunnar Skretting. She is also survived by her younger brother Bruce Birch of Taber, brother-in-law Allan Pearson of Edmonton, sister-in-law Connie Birch of Lethbridge, sister-in-law Margaret Langmuir of Creston, British Columbia and brother-in-law Tim (Deanne) Haynes of Cardston, sister-in-law Doris (Ross) Gulkison of Vancouver, British Columbia and sister-in-law Cindy (Roman) Batorski of Barnwell as well as numerous nephews, nieces and their families.

She was predeceased by her parents Irene and Mark Birch, her husband Roy, her mothers-in-law Lafern Radway and Doris Haynes, fathers-in-law Percy Haynes and Jean Radway, her sisters Gayle and Cheryil and her brother Mark. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law Julian Haynes, Roy Engleson and Walter Langmuir and sister-in-law Joyce Reeves, son-in-law Bud Mickelberry, grandson Christopher Yokoyama, nephew Wade Pearson and her great granddaughter, Dayan Haynes.

Carolee was born on May 3, 1938 to Irene Wilma Nyman and Mark Franklin Birch in Rossland, British Columbia. She started attending school in Rossland before moving to Vauxhall in 1946. The family moved to Taber in 1952 where she attended Central School and WR Myers School.

Carolee met her husband Roy at a New Years Dance in 1957 and they were married on October 29, 1958. A year later, they were sealed in the Cardston Temple. They moved to Enchant to start their married life and moved to the “Twinkle Inn” farmhouse north of Taber in 1962 where they raised their six children.

Carolee was a beautiful Seamstress and baker. She received awards at the Community Fair for both her sewing and baking.

Roy and Carolee retired from farming and moved to Taber in 2012. Carolee moved to Linden View in 2016 where she was very appreciative of the many caregivers there as well as the doctors and nurses at the Taber Hospital.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 between 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. and at the church prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 between 10:00 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
