Peter Bueckert

1957 - 2026

Peter Bueckert 1957 - 2026 Peter Klassen Bueckert, passed away in Lethbridge on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the age of 69 years.

Peter was born on January 2, 1957 in Chihuahua, Mexico. In 1959, the family moved to Belize where Peter enjoyed operating the dozer as a teenager while helping to clear trees for farmland. Peter often said that his heart was in Belize. In 1973, the family moved to Ontario, where he did various farm and factory work. In 1980 Peter moved with some of the family to Alberta. There, Peter had a prosperous career as a truck driver and made many precious memories while doing so.

Peter was a man of few words, but enjoyed spending time with his family. Although he didn’t have children of his own, he enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews. Peter battled heart failure and COPD for many years. Advanced cancer was discovered two weeks before he passed away. Peter was a quiet and gentle man with a big heart. He will be missed greatly by his family.

Peter was predeceased by his parents Heinrich and Maria Bueckert; sister Katharina Klassen; brother Frank Bueckert; niece Susana Klassen.

The Funeral Service was held at the Reinland Mennonite Church, Vauxhall (travel north of Vauxhall on Highway 36 almost seven kilometers, then head east on Township Road 140 just2 over one kilometer), on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Vauxhall Mennonite Cemetery.
