Brenda Chmielewski

1951 - 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Joyce Chmielewski, announce her passing in Taber on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the age of 75 years.

Brenda held a special place in our hearts and is survived by her brothers and sister Ron (Sharon) Chmielewski of Coaldale, Frances (Sam) Kadoyama Taber and Mark ( Carolyn) Chmielewski of Cardston; nephews and nieces Aaron (Leanne) Chmielewski, Micheal (Patrick) Wiens, Sara Kadoyama (Tayler Kunz), Brittany (Cody) Chmielewski, Courtney Munro and CJ (Hannah) Chmielewski; great nieces and nephews Kyra (Devon) and Nicole (Tyler) Chmielewski, Gabrielle and Genevieve Weins, Jayce Welsh, Liam and Lillian Munro, Gatlin Warburton and Mackenzie, Jack and Silver Chmielewski along with all her relatives.

She was predeceased by her parents Martin and Stella Chmielewski.

Brenda graduated from St. Mary's High School, Taber. Right after grade twelve she started work at the Town of Taber (office secretary) with Tom Anton and Annie Stubbert. This job lasted quite a few years, she then headed to Lethbridge to work for the government. First at the court house as a court reporter, then onto range management and Fish and Wildlife.

She had a creative spirit and especially enjoyed quilting, crocheting and needlepoint, which after retirement she spent her time at both seniors centres with her quilting and crafting friends. Brenda also took many classes for new quilting ideas. She took pride and pleasure in creating beautiful hand crafted items, putting her love and care into every piece. Her creativity was a wonderful reflection she shared with others. These handmade treasures will remain a lasting reminder of her thoughtfulness and love.

Brenda will be remembered for the special place she held in the lives of so many. She was not only an aunt to family, but “Auntie Brenda” to many others whose lives she touched.

Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on through the people she loved, the memories she created and all the lives she touched. "Rest peacefully, Auntie Brenda. You will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered."

The Funeral Service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. A committal service followed at the Taber Memorial Garden columbarium.
