Melford Friedrick

1934 - 2026

Melford William Friedrick, beloved husband of the late Emma Friedrick, passed away in Taber on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at the age of 92 years.

Melford is survived by his loving children Lorraine Friedrick of Sylvan Lake, Dianne Braun of Stirling and Brian Friedrick of Milk River. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren Rachelle of Calgary and Eric, Emily and Rio of Stirling. He also leaves behind his siblings Selby (Sylvia), Lorne (Shannon), Jamie, and Carol; sister-in-law Inez (John), as well as family members Emma (Bob), Steven (Roberta), Ken (Nora) and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Emma; his parents Henry and Rosalia Friedrick; eight siblings, Lloyd, Ralph (Edith), Bill (Sharon), Verl (Donna), Lesley (Doug), Teresa (Alec), Norman (Deb), Debbie (Dennis) and his very close cousin Gordon (Jean) (Bev).

Melford was born on January 19, 1934, in 1-17 near Milk River. He married the love of his life, Emma Orosz, on July 10, 1958. He loved his family above all else. He built up a farm and ranch and loved working the land and caring for the animals. He enjoyed visiting his siblings and maintaining family relationships. He played ball and bowled with neighbours on local teams. He was a jack-of-all trades - mechanic, carpenter, welder and more. Melford will be remembered for his devotion to his family, and his grit and determination to see things through. He will be greatly missed.
