KAY TANAKA
1927 - 2008
Kinuko “Kay” Tanaka (nee Ohashi), passed away peacefully in the presence of her brother and sons, in Edmonton on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the age of 80 years.
Kay is survived by her sister Margaret Sameshima of Richmond; brother Ken (Bonnie) Ohashi of Edmonton; sister-in-law Alice Ohashi of Taber; her sons Keith (Jane) Tanaka of the Crowsnest Pass, Gerry (Mary Ann) Tanaka of Edmonton, Harvey (Sandy) Tanaka of Calgary, Alan (Margaret) Tanaka of Calgary, and Brent (Karen) Tanaka of Edmonton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ito and Kanshiro Ohashi; her brothers Mike and Joe Ohashi; sister-in-law Hisaye Ohashi and brother-in-law Kuni Sameshima.
A service for Kay was held in Edmonton on Sunday, April 27, 2008. A private family service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Saturday, May 3, 2008 with Reverend Y. Izumi officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
