TESSA SPARKS

1983 - 2003

Tessa Dawn Sparks, beloved daughter of Randy and Diane Sparks of Taber, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2003 at the age of 19 years.
Tessa was born at Taber on October 4, 1983, the daughter of Randy and Diane Whitehead Sparks. She received her schooling in Taber at Central and D.A. Ferguson schools and graduated from W.R. Meyers in 2001. While attending High School she was a member of the W.R. Meyers Concert Band and played on the W.R. Meyers Varsity softball team. She attended the University of Lethbridge last year. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing with Van Dance Studio and later became very involved with hockey. Tessa played Taber Minor Hockey for 4 years and then played for a girls zone team, The Picture Butte Blazers, for 4 years. She also played in the Alberta Winter Games as a 12, 14 and 16 year old, as well as played “AAA” Elite hockey in Calgary and a year for the Lethbridge Pronghhorns. Tessa was active with extra curricular activities and was very committed and active within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was currently assistant coach of her brother Clay’s novice hockey team (The Ice) in Taber and a girls midget team (The Lightning) in Lethbridge.
Tessa will be forever remembered in the hearts of her parents Randy and Diane Sparks; sisters Amber (Evan) Blindback of Medicine Hat and Kitawna Sparks of Taber; brother Clay Sparks of Taber; grandparents John and Patsy Sparks of Taber and great-grandmother Stella Evanson of Taber; aunts and uncles Glen (Joanne) Sparks, Penny (Steve) Swarbrick, Louise (Don) Selk, Kathleen (Vernon) Carter and Marie (Gary) Martin. Tessa will also be forever remembered and cherished by numerous cousins and her many friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Delyle and Shirley Whitehead and great-grandfather Harold Evanson.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 from 11:30 A.M. to 12:40 P.M. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Ray Gardner officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
