BETTE JESPERSEN

1929 - 2003

Elizabeth Hannah (Bette) Jespersen, beloved wife of John Jespersen of Taber, passed away in the comfort of her home on Thursday, August 7, 2003 at the age of 73 years.
Bette was born in Taber on October 27, 1929 a daughter to Tom and Isobel Love. She received her schooling in Taber. Bette met and later married John Jespersen on February 21, 1948. They farmed south of Taber (Wadena District) before retiring to the Town of Taber in 1978. Bette enjoyed many pastimes which included bowling, curling, playing the piano and slowpitch. She was the pitcher for their family slowpitch team. She was an active member of the Knox United Church and enjoyed being in the choir. Her life’s accomplishments were the farm and her family. Bette supported her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors and will be forever remembered for her family oriented qualities.
Besides her husband John, she will be cherished by her children, John (Leah) of Taber, Tom (Marsha) of Lethbridge, Lynne (Dan) Dorchak of Lethbridge, Roberta Odland of Prince George, B.C., Bruce (Brenda) of Kelowna, B.C., Wendy (Kevin) Virostek of Coalhurst, Tim (Deb) of Lethbridge and Patti Mann of Vernon, B.C.; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Bette is also survived by her sisters, Nan Dunn, Isobel (Cameron) Heatherington, Ena Rossiter, Robena Morris and Pat Stubbert as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Gordon; two brothers, Frank and Tom Love; two sisters, Fraisie Lacey and Nora Creer; her parents, Tom and Isobel Love and her mother and father-in-law, Hazel and Chris Jespersen.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, August 11, 2003 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
­­The Funeral Service was held at the Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
