BOB PHILLIPS

1936 - 2003

Robert (Bob) Phillips, beloved husband of Mrs. Lois Phillips, passed away at the Taber Hospital on Sunday, August 17, 2003 at the age of 67 years.
Bob was born in Medicine Hat on January 16, 1936 a son to William and Clara Phillips. He was raised and schooled in Bow Island. It was clear that Bob’s interest in ranching would be his passion. He farmed and ranched south of Grassy Lake for many years. During this time he travelled the rodeo circuit and participated for a number of years. In 1968 Bob began working for the Town of Taber as an equipment operator and retired in 1995. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served on the executive which enabled him to serve his community in many capacities. Bob will be remembered and cherished in the hearts of his family... especially his unique laughter.
Besides his wife Lois, he is survived by his children, Greg (Heather), Lori-Ann, Scott (Lonnie), Colin (Tiffany) and Susan; grandchildren, Tara, Raegan and Ashley; Delaney and Riley; Jodi and Kori; Gregory and Kade; and Shanda-Lee; brothers and sisters, Eva (Bob) Comm, Eileen Berg, Harley (Kathleen) and “Bud” (Kay) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Clara Phillips; a sister Ethel Mae and a sister in infancy, Shirley.
The Funeral Service was held at the Taber Legion Park on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Bob’s name can be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2M7.
