1924 - 2002

Douglas (Doug) Marose of Taber, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2002 at the age of 77 years.
Doug was born in Taber on June 26, 1924, one of seven children born to Elmer and Janet Marose. Doug worked at several farms and ranches within the Taber and surrounding area where many lifetime friendships were formed. In 1952 Doug and Dora settled on the Clem Campbell Ranch southeast of Taber purchasing it in 1964 and renaming it Golden Meadows. Doug continued to farm and raise cattle there with his sons Marvin and Darrel. Throughout Doug’s life, he enjoyed his involvement with 4H, riding the several horses he owned, fixing whatever needed to be repaired and, of course, the farming of his land.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Dora (Tinsley), who have been married for fifty six years; his son Marvin (Kim) of Taber and their daughter, Coralee (Keith Lubbers) of Vauxhall and son, Chad of Taber; his son, Darrel (Bonnie) and their son Scott (fiancée, Dallas Donahue) of Lethbridge and daughter, Kerri of Lethbridge; Norma (DeLace Rombough) of High River and their daughter Charlane of Calgary and Ron Tinsley (Vi) of Coalhurst. He is also survived by brothers, Allen (Emily) of Taber and Norman (Ruby) of Taber; and sisters, Edith Holstine of Taber, Laureta (Don Chapman) of Calgary and Fay (Joe Verwimp) of Taber.
Doug was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Janet Marose; his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Garth Johnson; brother-in-law Fred Holstine (Edith) and a grandson Craig Rombough (Norma).
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, March 29, 2002 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, March 30, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
