married Darrel Collins in Medicine Hat, Alberta on June 30, 1942.  The war years saw the young couple live in the east until returning to continue with the farm
operation in Burdett, Alberta.  In addition to being a wife and mother, Gin was an accomplished marksman and enjoyed hours of hunting and competition with winning results.  She oil painted and was an avid reader.  At the time of her passing Gin was a resident of the Bow Island Manor, continuing to live that independent life style that she relished.
Gin will forever be remembered by her children and grandchildren: son Dennis (Julia) Collins; grandchildren Tanya Collins and Scott (Natalie Noel) Collins - Kaleb and Jessica; son Gary (Arlene) Collins; grandchildren Chris Collins and Kerry (Darcy) Norton and great granddaughters Haley and Alyssa Norton; son Randy (Marie) Collins; grandchildren Lee, Deven and Shaila Collins and daughter Sandy (Dwayne) Pregitzer; grandson Kevin Pregitzer. She also leaves to cherish her memory one sister Ruth Liverseed and her sisters-in-law Velma Rumpel, Vi Collins, Leila Collins and dear friend Eleanor Cleland as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her loving husband Darrel, Gin was predeceased by her parents Peter and Madeline Rumpel, sister Dorothy Wilkinson and brother George Rumpel.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, 139-2 Ave. West, Bow Island, Alberta on Friday, April 22, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sandra McMillan officiating. Interment to follow in the Burdett Cemetery.
