ALICE VISSER

1904 - 1983

The Lord took home after a short illness, Aaltje "Alice" Visser (nee Muizelaar) on Tuesday, November 15, 1983 at the age of 79 years. 

Alice is survived by three daughters Agnes (Tony) Slomp of Brooks, Jenny (Harry) Stolk of Taber, Diny Geertsma of Taber; four sons Klaas (Grace) Visser of Taber, Hans (Lena) Visser of Taber, Dick (Marilyn) Visser of Taber and Morris Visser of Taber; four sisters and one brother all in Holland, forty one grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Klaas Visser Sr. on March 16, 1981, by one sister and one brother.

Alice was born in Holland on January 20, 1904. During her youth she made a profession of faith in the Christian Reformed Church of which she was a faithful member until she died. She married Klaas Visser on April 15, 1928. They came to Canada in 1949, settling in Picture Butte. In 1952, they move to the Taber area where they farmed until returning to the Town of Taber in 1967.

The Funeral Service was held at the Taber Christian Reformed Church on Saturday, November 19, 1983 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. J. Corverrs officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden. Pallbearers were Ken Visser, Allan Visser, Darrel Visser, John Slomp, Ed Stolk and Steve Kress. Ushers were Ron Visser, Rich Visser and Jim Stolk.
