Shelly Sekura

1966 - 2020

 Shelly May Sekura (nee Gregus), beloved wife of the late Dale Sekura, passed away in Taber on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at the age of 53 years.

As a result of the restrictions regarding COVID-19, and the government’s recommendations, a private funeral service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden. 

 Shelly is survived by her son Cody Sekura of Lethbridge, sister Terry-Ann (Willie) Hannah, brother Joe (Teresa) Gregus and sister-in-law Roxie Gregus. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Jennifer Angyal, Krystal (Eric) Stolk, Brandon Gregus, Christopher (Annie) Gregus, Ashley Gregus, Jordan Gregus, Kendon Gregus, Tiffaney (Aaron) Boucher, Shauna Gregus (Jared) and Tosha Gregus.

 She was predeceased by her husband Dale Sekura, mother Irene Gregus in 2010, father John Gregus in 2011 brothers John Gregus in 2015 and Robert Gregus in 2008.

 Shelly was born October 29, 1966 to John and Irene Gregus. She was the youngest of five children, and grew up in Taber. Stampede Wrestling would be on the television every weekend and Shelly loved to go and see it live as well. Shelly was called Anne Landers by her father as the other kids would file in and out of the house looking for teenage advice. Mom would always ask if they were hungry and feed them. She enjoyed waitressing and was a great cook. It depends who you talked to what the best dish was that she made, there were many. She played Friday night mixed darts, ladies darts and enjoyed helping make the lunch during tournaments. Shelly worked in the field driving the pea viners. She enjoyed that job, and the people she worked with. Shelly married Dale Sekura on Valentine's Day 1999. Their son Cody was born later that year. Shelly loved her life on the farm, and her boys. She enjoyed a good thunderstorm and music, lots of music. She knew all the lyrics for every old rock and roll song.
