Bea Osterman

1928 - 2021

Beatrice Mary Osterman (nee Wrobel), went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the age of 92 years.

As a result of the restrictions regarding COVID-19 and the government recommendations, a private visitation was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Saturday, May 8, 2021. She will be laid to rest with her son James at the Taber Memorial Garden at a later date.

Bea will be lovingly remembered by her children John (Carol) Piea of Medicine Hat, Beatrice (Melvin) Kunz of Taber, Susie (Dinzel) Phillips of Taber and her grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister Marjorie Hnetka and sister-in-law Margaret Wrobel both of Regina, Saskatchewan and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband John Piea and her second husband Herman Osterman; her daughter Muriel Piea and son James Piea; her mother Muriel Van Den Bosch (nee Stapleton), her father Fred Wrobel and step father Paul Van Den Bosch; brothers Roy Wrobel and Ray Wrobel; brothers-in-law Larry Kratt Sr. and Leo Hnetka.

Bea, also known affectionately as Betty, was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on November 16, 1928.

Bea pulled her share of the yoke of life, she could see what needed to be done and did it. Whether at her church or lodge (her home), she loved the soil. Bea didn’t stir the pot, she dumped it, blended, enriched and filled it. The eternal garden is where you will find her toiling. You will hear her before you see her, for she will be singing and whistling.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Bea’s name may be made directly to the Clearview Lodge Resident Council, 4730 - 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1N6.
