Mary Muise

1934 - 2023

Mary Hannah Muise, beloved wife of the late Gus Muise, passed away peacefully in Taber on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the age of 88 years after a brief illness.

Mary was born on September 17, 1934 in Terrenceville, Newfoundland to Michael and Ellen (nee Mitchell) McCarthy. She married George “Gus” Augustus Muise on January 9, 1954 and together they raised family of five children in St. George’s.

After the death of her son Bobby in August 2016 and her husband Gus in March 2018, Mary moved to Alberta to be closer to her four daughters Yvonne (Terry) Dreaddy, Hazel (Rex) Madore, Ramona (Kelly) Romaniuk and Bernice McKay and their families.

As Newfoundlanders, we take pride in the idea that we are an outgoing, kind, friendly and compassionate people. We would like to thank all who met and conversed with our mom during her brief stay in the west of Canada, especially in Taber where she more recently called home. She passed thinking the people who live here were just like those she left behind in the province she loved so much.

As per Mary’s wishes, she will return to be with family who predeceased her and the very large number of family members who await her. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Gus and son Bobby.
