Jeni was born in Taber on April 19, 1928 to Steve and Mary Westhora. In her late teens, she and her sister Anne Mikla, moved to Lethbridge to work at Broders Canning Company. After some time, she met and married John Yuhas. Together they had two children, Terry and Lance. Jeni and her husband moved to Calgary where she worked in a hospital. A few years later, after her husband passed away, she moved back to Taber where she met and later married Harold Gibson. Harold was a long distance truck driver (known affectionately as "Hooter") at that time and she joined him on many trips while living in Taber. They loved to drive everywhere throughout Alberta, British Columbia and some of the United States, whenever the chance arose. She knew every short cut there was in both Alberta and British Columbia. In the early 70s, they moved to Kamloops, British Columbia for a short time. They were there for less than a year before moving to Logan Lake, British Columbia, where they both started working for Lornex Copper Mines. Harold drove a Mining Dump Truck and Jeni worked as a Custodian. They were both very happy together and loved by the residents of the town. Jeni loved to garden and many visitors to Logan Lake would stop by to admire her garden which made her very happy and so proud. Unfortunately, Harold passed away in 1996 from cancer, so Jeni moved back to Taber in 1997 where she has remained since. Her last years were spent in Clearview Lodge along with her long time best friend, Mary Baroldi. Jeni loved both the Staff and the Management and they loved her. She will be greatly missed by all.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Jeni's name may be made directly to the Taber and District Housing Foundation (Clearview Lodge), 5318 - 48 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1S2 www.taberhsg.ca.
