In 1976 he married Margitta and together they raised their three children on the farm. He loved all facets of farming as well as caring for livestock periodically. Doug loved the quiet, wide open spaces that goes hand in hand with country living. In 2000, after the farm was sold he operated his own business, Eagle Enterprises and did property management for fifteen years. Doug and Margitta enjoyed camping with the kids, a trip to Disneyland, cruises to Alaska and the Panama Canal and a trip to Mexico. He dearly loved playing with and just hanging out with his grandkids who brought him so much joy. Doug was beloved by many and his memory will be treasured in the hearts of his family.
