1936 - 2024

Thomas Kenneth Stoddart, beloved husband of Sheila Stoddart, passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the age of 88 years.

A private committal service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 1:00 P.M.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with Ken’s family to celebrate his life at the Royal Canadian Legion, 5205 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, September 30, 2024 between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M.

Besides his loving wife Sheila, he is survived by his daughter Joan (Bob) Wallace of Taber and their three daughters Amanda (Lincoln) Sipko, Heather (Christopher) Ehnes and Jillian (Matthew) Vanden Dungen; his son Mark (Jodi) Stoddart of Taber and their son Mathew (Brittney), daughter Jessica (Stuart) Poettcker. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren Mackenzie, Rhett, Violet, Evan, Walker, Cole, Eli, Scotlynn and Isaac as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Winifred Stoddart; brother Frank (LaVeda) Stoddart; Sheila's parents Frank and Frances Cropper; sister-in-law Kathleen Barnes; brothers-in-law Archie, Hugh, Robert and Gerald, and their spouses.

Ken was born July 29, 1936 in Calgary, and took his schooling at Capital Hill Cottage School, King George Jr. High, Sunalta Jr. High and graduated from Western Canada High School. After high school Ken joined the Bank of Montreal where he was employed for thirty eight years. He was transferred several times throughout Alberta and finished his career in Taber. He met the love of his life Sheila, while in high school and working at McDiarmid Drug Store in the photo lab. They married in 1958. Ken was always active in community organizations, from scouting, minor sports, service clubs, golf, curling and chamber of commerce.
