Born on July 30, 1951, in Battleford, Saskatchewan, Garry lived a full and joyful life, marked by love, family, and adventure. He spent his early years in Battleford before moving to Bow Island, where he met the love of his life Bonnie. The two shared a beautiful fifty year marriage, during which they raised their three children, Dustin, Ashley and Corinna.

Their journey together took them to Taber, where Garry continued to build a life centered on family, hard work and the great outdoors. He had a deep love for nature and spent many cherished days fishing, camping, traveling with Bonnie and putting together puzzles while watching his Calgary Flames. In his later years, nothing brought him more joy than being with his grandchildren. A devoted papa, Garry found great joy in teaching his grandchildren to fish, work on vehicles and how to drive. He also loved cheering them on at countless sporting events. His legacy lives on in the memories he created and the values he passed down.

Garry’s presence will be missed every day, but his love and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Garry’s name may be made directly to the Calgary Health Foundation (Foothills Hospital Neurosciences Unit 112), Suite 800, 11012 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, Alberta T2J 6E5.
