JACK MCCLOY

1936 - 2007

Mr. John William McCloy, beloved husband of Mrs. Louise McCloy of Taber, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2007 at the age of 70 years.
Jack was born at Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on October 13, 1936 to parents William and Isabelle McCloy. He was raised and educated at Kinistino, Saskatchewan.  He married Irene Louise Hunter on July 11, 1959 at Fillmore, Saskatchewan.  That same year he attended the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon in the school of agriculture.  In 1967 they moved back to the family farm in Kinistino, Saskatchewan.  In 1968 the family moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan where Jack worked at the Co-op lumber yard.  In 1970 they moved to Calgary to work for Sherritt Gordon Mines.  They moved to Taber in 1975 where he began his employment with Taber Fertilizer.  He was later employed with Century 21, Royal LePage, McDonald Chev Olds and Milliken Farm Supplies until his retirement in 2002.
Jack was the “laugh out loud” kind of guy who enjoyed the company of good friends, family and especially his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed golfing, curling, camping and fishing.  One of his proud accomplishments was a “hole in one” at Parksville, British Columbia in 2004.  Jack was a member of the Elks in Taber and Kinsmen in Kinistino, Saskatchewan and on the Board of Directors at Indian Hills Golf Club.
Besides his loving wife Louise, he is  survived by his mother Isabelle McCloy of Melfort, Saskatchewan; three children Mark (Heather) McCloy of Lethbridge, Joanne McCloy of Taber and Colleen Donahue (Grant Hawes) of Taber; grandchildren Megan Donahue of Taber, Kennedy McCloy of Lethbridge, Tyler (Sylvia) Sawada of Edmonton and Ashley Fleming of Lethbridge; great grandchildren Colton and Parker Sawada of Edmonton; four sisters Sheila (Bob) Brucker of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Patricia Dodds of Melfort, Saskatchewan, Colleen McCloy of Fort Nelson, British Columbia and Jean (Ian) Bostock of Sherwood Park; brothers-in-law Gordon Hill of Edmonton and Kenneth (Jeanne) Hunter of Corning, Saskatchewan.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father William McCloy, father and mother-in-law Lawrence and Gladys Hunter and sister-in-law Dorothy Hill.
Jack will be privately remembered by his family and friends.
