Pam Matthews

1969 - 2025

 Pamela May Matthews (née Eldridge), beloved wife of Jason Matthews, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the age of 55 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. ONLY, as no meet the family is scheduled prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.

A private burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. 

Besides Jason, her husband of thirty six years, Pam is survived by their five children and their families, Skylar (Tehani) Matthews of Taber and their children Payton, Kaisley, Ashlynn, Carver and Charlie; Keaton Matthews of Taber; Tyson Matthews of Taber and his son Carson; Daxon (Emily) Matthews of Camrose and their children Sophia, Deanna and Sierra; Carter Matthews of Lethbridge. She is also survived by her siblings Becky Eldridge of Medicine Hat, Dana (Mark) Evans of Medicine Hat and Shauna Eldridge of Medicine Hat; and by her nieces and nephews. She will also be fondly remembered by her mother-in-law Kaaren Matthews and the Matthews family.

She was predeceased by her parents Laurence and Deanna Eldridge and her father-in-law John Matthews.

Pam was born in Taber on September 14, 1969, the second child born to Laurence and Deanna Eldridge. She grew up in town but spent countless hours at her grandparent’s farm just outside of Purple Springs. She was sealed for time and all eternity to Jason Matthews in January 1989 and was blessed with five sons. Pam’s first job was working at Safeway when she was young and upon returning to Taber with her family, she worked for many years again at Safeway. Following that, she worked twelve years at RBC, starting as a cashier and then moving to the role of financial advisor. She was passionate in her role and was dedicated to helping her clients. She was recognized as one of the top financial advisors at RBC, receiving the RBC Performance Conference Award in 2022.

Pam was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and faithfully served others in a variety of callings.

Pam was proud to be a mother of five boys and taught them the importance of family, hard work and diligence. She loved her grandchildren fiercely and would talk about them with every person she encountered. She enjoyed baking, playing and doing crafts with her grandchildren.
