Martin Nowakowski

1938 - 2025

 Martin Nowakowski, beloved husband of Dianne Nowakowski, passed away in Taber on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the age of 87 years.

Martin is survived by his wife of sixty years Dianne (née Horrocks) Nowakowski; son Troy and granddaughter’s Ashlee and Averie. He is also survived by his brother Stan, two sisters Agnes and Katie as well as many nieces and nephews.

Martin was born in Kennedy, Saskatchewan on February 25, 1938 to Martin and Catherine Nowakowski and had seven siblings. He was an avid fisherman in his day and loved a good game of cribbage until his last days. He was a big fan of watching his son and granddaughter’s play sports and there wasn’t a more loyal fan of the World Junior Canadian team each year. Martin worked thirty five years for SaskPower as an Instrument Technician and was also elected for a term as the Business Manager of IBEW Local 2067. In his last two years with the company he visited every high school in Saskatchewan and taught students a career path in the trades. After surviving prostate cancer through early screening he dedicated his time to volunteering for the cause. He drove the Man Van for years and would also sell hole in one tickets on golf courses in British Columbia and Alberta raising money and awareness. He was a soul who shone brightly and will be greatly missed.
