Sherry Ressler

1960 - 2026

Sherry Ann Ressler, affectionately known as “Sher Bear,” passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the age of 65 years.

Sherry is lovingly remembered by her two daughters Andrea Michelle Kellaway (Darryl Sharma) of Winter Park, Florida and Stephanie Lynn Kellaway (Ryan Meaney) of Oshawa, Ontario and by her cherished granddaughter Juliette Rose Kellaway Meaney, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Bertha Moore (Bill Verhoeven), Phil (Abe) Andres, Leo (Joan) Ressler, Bill (Kathy) Ressler and Terry Ressler, along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Mary and John Ressler and by her sister Violet House.

Sherry was born in Taber on November 30, 1960. She had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever she went. People were drawn to her warmth and unmistakable humour. She loved volunteering and took great pride in keeping score for local baseball teams. She enjoyed swimming, playing cards (always competitively) and in her later years, she found peace and joy in colouring.

Sherry was also famous among family and friends for leaving the longest, strangest, and most unforgettable voicemails. Messages that perfectly captured her humour, storytelling and larger than life personality.

A devoted single mother, Sherry raised her daughters with fierce love, resilience and laughter. She was a constant inspiration; proof that determination, heart, and humour can carry a person through life’s challenges. No matter what life handed her, Sherry met it head-on and on her own terms. Her loud energy, quick wit and unforgettable sense of humour filled every room.

In her final days, Sherry was surrounded by friends and loved ones, a true reflection of how many lives she touched. Not all fighters are in the ring. Some are single mothers and some face life seated rather than standing. In her life, Sherry was all of these and so much more.

We believe there are no wheelchairs in heaven. Enjoy your new legs, Sherry.

Sherry will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A service will be announced in the spring of 2026 to celebrate Sherry’s life.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, the ICU nurses and doctors at Chinook Regional Hospital and all of the staff at St. Michael’s Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion.
