Eileen Gross

1943 - 2026

Eileen Elizabeth Gross, beloved wife of Marvin Gross, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at the age of 83 years.

Eileen is survived by Marvin, her husband of sixty three years; children Kevin (Lori) Gross of Grassy Lake and Shanon (Ron) Simon of Dunmore; grandchildren Kyle (Brittany) Gross, Justin (Julia) Gross, Devin Simon (Sam Davis), Jaxson Simon and Kian Simon (Kierra Zentner); great grandchildren Noah Gross, Corbin and Mason Gross, and Dalton Simon; sister-in-law Mary Hooge.

She was predeceased by her parents Peter Sr. and Martha (née Helderweirt) Hooge as well as her brothers Peter Hooge and Edward Hooge; sister-in-law Betty Ann Hooge.

Eileen was born April 25, 1943 in Purple Springs to Peter Sr. and Martha Hooge and was raised on the family farm. On September 26, 1962, Eileen married Marvin Gross. Together they built a life south of Grassy Lake where they farmed for many years before moving into Grassy Lake in 1992.

For many winters, Marvin and Eileen made the trek to Arizona, enjoying the sunshine and spending time with their group of friends. They also loved taking drives through the countryside, often finding their way to Waterton.

The Gross grandchildren fondly remember hauling grain with Grandma, the many adventures that came with farm life, sleepovers, watching movies, and playing games. The Simon grandchildren will always treasure the visits to Grandma’s “waterpark” and “corner store”, along with the yearly tradition of making cheese buttons together. There were also many laughs about the reference to the land “up south”.

Eileen will be privately remembered by her family.
